Trials open at the MArRC
This year again the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria and Conservatory of Music “F. Cilea” together to celebrate the Festival of Music. Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 June, two days of “open rehearsals” in music at the #MArRC to celebrate the Festival of Music with the students of the conservatory “Francesco Cilea” of Reggio Calabria, fruit of the consolidated collaboration between the two Institutes.
The initiative is part of the cultural offer of the Museum and participation does not involve any surcharge on ordinary ticketing. At 11 o’clock on Wednesday 18 June, in the room of the wonderful Kouros of Rhegion, start the “open rehearsals” of the students of the Conservatory “F. Cilea” of Reggio Calabria, directed by Prof. Francesco Romano, with a flute quartet. This combination of music and archeology will be repeated in the same room on Thursday 19 June at 11, with a guitar solo in Piazza Paolo Orsi.
An exhibition between memory and harmony to celebrate the great Calabrian composer.
From 20 June to 20 July 2025, the #MArRC hosts an exhibition dedicated to Francesco Cilea, realized in collaboration with the Conservatory of Music “F. Cilea” on the occasion of the 60th academic year of the Institute.
Through documents, personal objects and testimonies, the exhibition tells the deep bond between the artist and his land, returning his human and musical memory.
The inauguration is scheduled for Friday, June 20 at 10.30 in Piazza Paolo Orsi, with the interventions of the Director Fabrizio Sudano, the President of the Conservatory “F. Cilea” Eduardo Lamberti Castronuovo and the Director of the Conservatory Francesco Romano. The ceremony will be accompanied by a musical intervention by Marco Zema, guitar of the Conservatory “F. Cilea”.
An opportunity to rediscover Cilea through a cultural synergy between two historical institutions of the city.
