 A summer of culture, music and entertainment at the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria

From 17 June to 30 August, the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria opens its doors at Museo in Fest 2025, the summer exhibition that transforms the MArRC into a dynamic space, open to citizenship, culture and beauty.

Concerts, theatrical performances, meetings, conferences and activities for children will animate the squares and terraces of the Museum for more than two months, offering a rich and multidisciplinary program.

The exhibition combines different genres and languages – from jazz to opera, from comedy to classical theatre – with the aim of making culture a living experience, engaging and accessible to all.

Many events include extraordinary openings in the evenings, to experience the Museum even in the evening, with music, words and sunsets on the Strait.

Tickets can be purchased online on coopculture.it from 1 July, until seats are sold out.

The cost of a regular ticket is 10.00 euro, reduced by 5.00 euro for holders of annual MArRC subscriptions.

Tickets for the dates of ● July 4 ● July 5 ● July 18  ● July 25  ● August 1 ● August 8 ● August 22 will be available on the Coopculture website from 1 July (00:01) at the ordinary cost of € 10.00.
A maximum of 2 tickets per user per single event will be allowed.

● June 17 – h 21:00 – Terrace of the Museum, Concert Ensemble Mediterranea

● 27 June*, h 18:00 – Piazza Paolo Orsi “Cappuccetto Rosso Kamishibai” – Compagnia Teatrop A scenic reinterpretation of the classic fairy tale designed for children, including narration, images and participation.

● 28 June*, h 18:00 – Piazza Paolo Orsi “A little Little Prince” – Compagnia Teatrop Show-workshop inspired by the “Little Prince”, between theater, fairy tale and shared creativity.

● 4 July, h 21:00 – Museum Terrace, Stefano Di Battista Quartet feat. Nicky Nicolai – “Mille bolle blu” Iconic Italian songs reinterpreted in a jazz way. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● 5 July, h 21:00 – Terrace of the Museum Meeting with Carlo Verdone “A Reggio con papà”. The film section of Associazione Anassilaos is named after Mario Verdone. The event is organized in collaboration with Associazione Anassilaos, LIFF Lamezia International Film Fest, RCFF ReggioFilmFest. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● 11 July*, h 18:00 – Piazza Paolo Orsi “A snack of fear” – Compagnia Teatrop Show-workshop on nutrition between play, costumes and interaction.

● 12 July*, h 21:00 – Terrace of the Museum Opera concert “Music under the stars” – Conservatory F. Cilea The opera voices of the Conservatory give a musical experience at sunset. Special opening: 20:00-23:00

● 18 July, h 21:00 – Terrace of the Museum Meeting with Federico Quaranta A tale of landscapes and cultural roots, between memory and identity. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● 25 July, h 21:00 – Museum Terrace, Federico Mecozzi Quartet A musical journey between classical, electronic and world music. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● 26 July*, h 21:00 – Terrace of the Museum Conference “The contribution of Italian monasticism to the birth of humanistic culture in southern Calabria between the fourteenth and sixteenth century” – AIPARC With Giacomo Oliva, a look at the role of monasteries in Calabria between the Middle Ages and Humanism. Special opening: 20:00-23:00

● August 1, h 21:00 – Terrace of the Museum Stand-up comedy with Gennaro Calabrese An evening dedicated to irony and contemporary comedy. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● 2 August*, h 21:00 – Museum Terrace Conference “From the Thebes of Sophocle to today’s Montreal Antigone still speaks” – CIS Calabria Paola Radici Colace reflects on the myth of Antigone between ancient theater and current events, with video projection. Special opening: 20:00-23:00

● 8 August, h 21:00 – Piazza Paolo Orsi Remo Anzovino – Solo piano concert Original music between cinema, poetry and improvisation. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● August 9*, h 21:00 – Terrace of the Museum Conference “Women, lovers, gods and the firmament: when the myth becomes light” – Planetario RC They discuss it: Salvo Guglielmino, Fortunato Zappia, Angela Misiano. Observation of the sky by the Planetarium of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria. Extraordinary opening: 20:00-23:00

● August 10*, h 21:00 – Terrace of the Akilone Quatuor Museum – The Unexplored (MERITA Project) part of the Music with View Festival, Dimore of the Quartet High-level chamber music with young European performers. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● 16 August*, h 21:00 – Piazza De Nava Orchestra Sinfonica Brutia – Dance 70/80 Disco classics reinterpreted in symphonic key. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● August 22, h 21:00 – Terrace of the Museum Meeting with Nino Frassica – Book presentation Between surreal comedy and author’s stories, a meeting not to be missed. Special opening: 20:00-24:00

● 23 August*, h 21:00 – Museum Terrace Conference “Drinking wine in ancient Greece, verses, societies, Mediterranean routes” – with TCI RC The symposium between history and poetry: with Prof. Andrea Filocamo, UniRC. Promoted by the Touring Club – section Reggio Calabria. Extraordinary opening: 20:00-23:00

● 28 August*, h 21:00 – Piazza De Nava Concert Orchestra Delianuova

● August 29*, h 21:00 – Piazza Paolo Orsi “Il Principe Ranocchio” – Teatrop Company Interactive show with creative workshop, inspired by the fairy tale.

● 30 August*, h 21:00 – Museum terrace Reading “Tre piccole ombre” – by Massimo Barilla, with Salvatore Arena Poetry and civil theatre meet in an intense and suggestive reading. Special opening: 20:00-23:00
