A Heritage to browse
The Library of the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, inaugurated in 2017, has deep roots dating back to 1882 with the Civic Museum. Since then, it has grown to house around 20,000 volumes covering classical archaeology, excavation techniques, philology, art history, epigraphy, restoration, Magna Grecia, numismatics, and much more.
There is also a section dedicated to rare and ancient books, featuring unique works within the bibliographic landscape of Southern Italy.
The Barresi collection, with over 3,500 volumes, represents its most precious core.
