How to Reach us
The National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria is easily accessible by car, on foot, or by public transport. It is located in the heart of the city, in a central area well connected to the airport, the port, and the main train stations.
Follow the directions below to choose the most convenient route.
From the Airport
From Reggio Calabria Airport, you can reach the Museum by several urban bus lines: 27, 28, 113, 115, 118, 119, and 122.
By car, just follow the signs for the A3 northbound, exit at “Reggio Calabria Porto” and continue along the ring road. Once you enter the city, follow Viale D. Genoese Zerbi up to the roundabout at Piazza Indipendenza.
From there, take Via Vollaro (the uphill street); the Museum is immediately on the left.
From the Station
The closest station is Reggio Calabria Lido: when you exit, you are in Piazza Indipendenza, just a two-minute walk from the Museum. Cross the square, take Via Vollaro, and the entrance is on the left.
From Reggio Calabria Centrale station, exit into Piazza Garibaldi, turn left onto Via Bixio, then Via Pepe, until Corso Vittorio Emanuele (Via Marina Alta).
At the end of the corso, take Via Vollaro and the Museum is immediately on the left.
Several urban bus lines connect to the Central Station: 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, 17, 18, 103, 107, 115, 119, 121, 122, 123, and 124.
From the Port
On foot, from the hydrofoil exit, take the uphill street in front of the boarding area, turn right onto Viale D. Genoese Zerbi, and reach the roundabout at Piazza Indipendenza. Here, follow the roundabout, then take Via Vollaro (the uphill street), and the Museum is immediately visible on the left.
From the Highway
From the A3 Salerno–Reggio Calabria highway, take the “Porto” exit and follow the signs for the ring road (tangenziale) towards the city center.
Once in the city, continue along Viale Genovese Zerbi until you reach the roundabout at Piazza Indipendenza. Take Via Vollaro (the uphill street) and the Museum is immediately on the left.
