On Saturday, 2018, June 9th, at 5.30 pm, the book by Angelo Vazzana “Odyssey of the Odyssey” (Gangemi editore) will be presented in the MArRC conference room, in collaboration with Touring Club. Introduces the lawyer Francesco Zuccarello, proconsul of the Touring Club Italia for the territory of Reggio Calabria. Francesca Carla Neri, lecturer and literary critic, will speak about the book.
The author traces the historical-literary path of the Homeric Poem through the texts of writers of the ancient Reggio, by the sixth Century BC, in a “journey through time” through archaeological evidence.
It is the third volume of a trilogy dedicated to the area of the Strait from the point of view of nature and landscape, historical-mythical-phenomenological. The other two books were: “Marine biodiversity of the province of Reggio Calabria” and “Natural and mild phenomena of the area of the Strait”. In this third Essay, Vazzana elaborates on the biography of the Reggian scholars who wrote a version of the Odyssey: Teagene (6th century BC), Lico and Lycophronus (4th and 3rd centuries BC).
