The flavors of the origins. Exhibition opening on Thursday June 14th

A new exhibition is added to the rich program of initiatives of the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria to celebrate 2018, the Year of Italian food established by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. “The flavors of the origins. The culture of food in protohistoric Calabria “is the title of the temporary exhibition that will be inaugurated Thursday, June 14th, at 4.30 pm, in the space of place Paolo Orsi.

The exhibition is curated by MArRC director Carmelo Malacrino together with the archaeologists Francesco Quondam and Ivana Vacirca. It welcomes 38 wonderful finds, many of which are for the first timeon public display. They were selected to represent the main sites of the region illustrating the eating habits of the indigenous populations before the Greek colonies, between the end of the Bronze and the Iron Age (XII – VIII century BC).
