The route of visit changes, to ensure the safety of health reconciling it with the possibility of offering a full experience of art, beauty and knowledge. In a first phase, of experimental opening, will be accessible to visitors the level D of the permanent exhibition, on the ground floor, dedicated to ancient Reggio and the Bronzes of Riace and Porticello in the Hall dedicated to them. In later times, the visit can continue to the upper floors, to end at level A, which houses even remains dating back to Protohistory and Prehistory.

A special signage will guide the guests of the Museum along the route, providing useful information to take precautions to protect their own health and others. The attendance, reception and supervision staff will accompany visiting groups to ensure order along the visit route required in order to guarantee compliance with security measures and to intervene in case of any need.

Along the exhibition route and in the rest areas there will be devices for hand hygiene. An environment dedicated to possible COVID-19 emergencies has also been set up, in case of sudden onset of suspected symptomatology.

The Museum, commonly known as the “House of the Bronzes of Riace” or of Magna Grecia, thus organizes its offer of visit in a new way, which makes use of the value of “temperance” and reflection that the lockdown for the national health emergency has left in legacy, with the ability to maintain the right distances, between people and things, in order to better enjoy and enjoy the beauty and richness of our cultural heritage, the testimonies of the history of Calabria and the treasures of the works of art and ingenuity that have passed on to us from our ancestors.

The Bronzes of Riace are certainly the main tourist attraction and the undisputed protagonists of the “great narrative” museum. The two masterpieces of ancient Greek art of the 5th century B.C. will welcome visitors from the first moment of their entry to the Museum, greeting them by the large windows overlooking Piazza Paolo Orsi from the Hall dedicated to them, an invitation to a unique and unforgettable trip in ancient Calabria.
