“Tocchiamo l’arte” Workshop for all at Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria

Starting from July, the workshops for everyone started at the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria. The workshops are aimed at a range of users ranging from 3 to 100 years and over and invite adults and children to learn to investigate art through new senses and new approaches.

 

It was in fact activated a tactile laboratory, thanks to a series of aids, such as the tactile tables of some works, particularly suitable for anyone wishing to know the heritage of the museum through the sense of touch. The workshop is suitable for families, children or adults who want to know stories, legends and curiosities of the Museum by touching them thanks to their fingertips, as well as for blind and partially sighted people.

Let’s touch the art! It is the title of the workshop and registrations are open.

 

The second workshop is conceived, also this from 3 to 100 years and more, for all those who want a simple approach to the museum. It is particularly suitable for people with intellectual disabilities but is absolutely suitable and recommended for families and children, because to drive in the museum in this case will be a treasure hunt to discover some of the most iconic and beautiful works of art of the Museum.
For the workshops, special materials have been prepared that will remain available to the Museum at the end of the workshops themselves, such as educational kits, digital kits in animated cartoon format for treasure hunting, the social history of the Museum and simplified descriptions of the works.

 

The cooperative Mare Laboratorio di innovazione sociale, based in Catania and Florence deals with the structuring of content in “design for all” therefore totally accessible for every disability, teaching, exhibition organization and management of museum services, as well as implementation of routes for the development of villages and vulnerable territories. The cooperative has transversal competences: art historians, consultants with disabilities, didactics experts, museologists, in order to adapt its services according to the needs of the museums in which it operates.

For the MArRC, the cooperative has designed a series of services and materials to make the museum accessible on its own. All the activities and materials that will be available to visitors are built and designed to be a valuable aid to the visit for everyone, without any distinction.

Eight tactile tables of the museum exhibits have been made to allow anyone who wants to get in touch with this extraordinary heritage through the codes of tact, The social history of the museum has been created, as well as simplified language sheets for the rooms and major works of the museum, to allow everyone to experience the museum in a satisfying way with simple contents.

 

From the month of July are planned specific workshops, in which visitors will have the opportunity to experiment, accompanied by operators Gabriella Vigoroso, Alessandra Trunfio and Maria Cantone all materials produced, including a fun treasure hunt in the museum suitable for adults, children and people with intellectual disabilities.

Starting from September, the treasure hunt will also become a fun animated cartoon for everyone, to be seen comfortably on your smartphone to visit the museum and discover curiosities and anecdotes in a simple and fun way.
