European Heritage Days 2025
On September 27 and 28, the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria will participate in European Heritage Days 2025 with a rich program of conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and educational activities for adults and children, dedicated to the theme “Architecture: the art of building.”
September 26, 11:00 a.m. – Press conference “School-work training and teaching at the Museum: history guiding the future,” presentation of new educational projects for the 2025-26 school year – MArRC Terrace.
September 27, 11:00 a.m. – “ARCHI… TRAVI E TETTI” (ARCHES… BEAMS AND ROOFS), workshop for families with children (ages 6-12) to discover the architecture of Magna Graecia, offered by Coopculture
September 27-28 – Documentary exhibition “The art of building a museum: Marcello Piacentini and the Museum of Reggio Calabria,” illustrating the history of Palazzo Piacentini (MArRC Terrace).
September 28, 11:00 a.m. – Thematic tour “Form and Matter,” an in-depth look at ancient architecture, offered by Coopculture.
September 28, Level E – Workshops for families “The Art of Building… History”:
◦ 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. – Workshop 1 Little Paleontologists, for children aged 3 to 5;
◦ 6:30 p.m. – Workshop 2 The Archaeologist’s Craft: From Excavation to Study, for children aged 6 to 11.
All activities are free of charge and admission to the Museum is included in the regular ticket price.
The European Heritage Days are promoted by the Ministry of Culture and represent the largest and most popular cultural event in Europe.
