The Breath of Music

From June 16th to 21st 2026 the spaces of Piazza Paolo Orsi — the Museum’s inner courtyard — will host the exhibition The Breath of Music, dedicated to instruments belonging to the aerophone family.
 
The exhibition has been created in collaboration with the MuStruMu – Museum of Musical Instruments – on the occasion of the 32nd edition of the Festa della Musica, which this year is dedicated to the theme The Voice of Places.

Featuring five musical instruments brought together through a carefully designed narrative journey, the exhibition invites visitors to discover how breath can be transformed into sound, memory and storytelling.
 
The exhibition programme will also be enriched on Saturday June 20th at 6:00 pm in Piazza Paolo Orsi by the musical performance Amodeo Sings Spagna, featuring Giovanni Amodeo (vocals), Demetrio Spagna (texts) and Salvatore Familiari (music).

An event that weaves together music, words and memory, creating an ideal dialogue with the exhibition.
