Restoration laboratory

In the museum’s semi-basement floor, there is a highly specialized laboratory dedicated to the care and conservation of archaeological artifacts.

Its proximity to the storage areas and the building’s entrance facilitates the transport of even the most fragile materials. Here, our archaeologists carry out treatments on every type of artifact to ensure their best possible preservation.

Preserve to enhance

The restoration workshop of the Museum is a fully equipped space for every phase of conservation work: from cleaning to consolidation, up to reconstruction and integration. Operating on metal, ceramic, stone, and glass materials, it represents a crucial facility for the safeguarding of the heritage.

Every operation is preparatory to enhancement: there is no exhibition without protection, nor storytelling without care for the original. The quality of the equipment and the expertise of the staff enable precise, respectful, and scientifically grounded interventions.
